W. Barefoot Bankhead affiliates with Echelon Analytics
DALLAS — W. Barefoot Bankhead, a recognized expert in financial service industry-related disputes, has affiliated with Echelon Analytics to provide expert witness and other litigation support services, primarily related to the financial services industry. Mr. Bankhead will be based out of Echelon’s Dallas office.

Barefoot has been a Texas licensed CPA* for 40 years. He has served in the banking industry for more than 35 years as an auditor, regulator, senior executive, board member and consultant. He also taught accounting at Richland College and has been a guest lecturer at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas. Prior to his retirement from Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP (“Deloitte FAS”) in June 2017, Barefoot was a partner in Deloitte FAS and served as the National Banking & Securities Industry Leader for Deloitte FAS from 2008 to 2010. He also served as the fraud audit specialist for some of Deloitte & Touche’s largest financial industry audit clients.
Barefoot has assisted clients that have been involved in investigations or litigation with the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”), Federal Reserve Board, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (“FDIC”), Federal Trade Commission, Department of Labor, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, National Credit Union Association, Farm Credit System and multiple state banking agencies and attorneys general. Also, Barefoot has been retained on multiple occasions by the SEC and FDIC to serve as an expert in litigation matters.
Barefoot earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas in Austin. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a former member of the board of trustees of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.
